Shine Yo’ Light & No, It Doesn’t Make You a Narcissist.

May 22, 2013

Sorry Tribe, the sound is a bit off and not synched but this is such an important message straight from my heart to yours. I love you guys. Keep shining!

Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson

it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other

people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

Darlin’ girl …. I so love your spunk …. you remind me of me in my younger years!! Is that narcissistic??? Hell no … it’s recognizing the courage and the humility it takes to simply be yourself.
You are going to make one fine crone when your time comes! Please continue to add your light to the light of the world.
    much love,

crone – MY definition = the highest honour accorded to those of us who have travelled on and survived the long-short road, the high-low places in the life we are challenged by, are gifted with, and come out experiencing authenticity in the end – a sense of honesty and safety in acknowledging who we truly are,
There’s lots of beauty in this realm. I appreciate the sharing of your experience.

        with you all the way,

        nancy

Jennifer, I read somewhere that being a writer is like showing the world your butt. I think so. Thank you for showing the world your butt. Xoxo

Possibly my favorite of Jen Pastiloff’s vlogs, and one that came to me at JUST the right time. Thank you Jen and thank you Universe!

Wow Jen. I’ve experienced the same exact thing, the snide and muffled (or sometimes not-so-muffled) comments about my narcissism for self-promoting on social media. I needed to see this, I needed these words of yours. Especially considering I’m JUST starting out, and it’s been hard to cope with the judgement for doing what I do, trying to build a BUSINESS via self-promotion and social media. I FELT narcissistic. I believed them. Thank you for reminding me of the truth. I can only hope to one day be as successful in the fearless chasing of my passions as you are, to actually call it my career, that’s the dream – and this is the way to get there. I applaud you for asking for what you want and for inspiring us all to do the same! Just think how functionally the world would operate if we all just asked for what the HELL we want…
    LOVE you dammit.

yes! thank you! this also came at just the right time for me, just as I’m delving a little deeper into social media and that little voice in my head saying “you’re too self-absorbed,” “you’re just bugging people.” Nice to know I’m not alone and that it’s ok to shut that voice off!
