Carissa Chesanek is a Brooklyn-based writer with an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School. Her work has been seen in The Brooklyn Rail, Publisher's Weekly, The Rumpus, and LA Review of Books, among others. Her creative non-fiction essay 'White Deer' won Litro Magazine's 2022 Reflection Contest. She was a recent editorial fellow at Guernica and the reviews and interviews editor with Longleaf Review. Currently, she is a writing mentor to cancer patients with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Visible Ink Writing Program and the co-host of the reading series Sunday Salon in New York City.
