Katie Guinn is an artist, mother of blood and non-blood children, designer and writer, wifey, flower gardener, art teacher and lover of the beautiful, of the female brainwaves and form. She's spent time as a contributing freelance writer for the Portland Mercury. She's part of the corporeal writing tribe, which has changed her artist self significantly, bringing about work that's been hiding in her lungs, liver and heart for years. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, daughter and cat.
An excerpt from this essay first appeared in Nailed Magazine in June, 2017. This is her first published personal piece.
